Where Truck Bodies Break Down

A refuse body gets loaded, packed, and dumped hundreds of times a week, and the damage shows up in the same places on almost every truck:

• Rear-load hoppers: the hopper floor and sweep area wear thin from the packer blade dragging wet, heavy loads.
• Front-load bodies: body floors and lower side walls rust from the liquids that collect at the bottom of the load.
• Tailgates: hinge points crack and seal surfaces rot, so the truck leaks down the road.
• Roll-off trucks: hoist frames, pivot points, and the long rails take the full weight of every box pulled up the bed.
• Hoist and tailgate cylinders: seals give out and mounts crack. We handle that with our hydraulic cylinder repair service.

We cut out rotted steel and weld in new plate, rebuild cracked mounts and pivots, and refinish the body so it’s protected against Florida rust. A full refurbishment on a sound chassis is often the difference between a new body order and another several years on the route.
